DECISIONS, DECISIONS

Date-night in your future? Dressing for the occasion is already pretty complicated. If it's early on in the relationship you don't want to look like you're trying to hard and if it's been a while, you don't want to look like you're not trying hard enough. Do you keep it casual in jeans or pull out a dress? Go for a bold eye or keep your makeup fresh and natural? Should you attempt to wear those new knee-high boots or be comfy in no-fail flats? Woah! The list of choices is really endless. And trust me, I'm the queen of trying on ALL the options before I finally make a decision. You should see my closet after I get ready to meet my sister for lunch.

That's why today, I've put together today's wintery date-night look. It's meant inspire you the next time your tossing a pair of heels across your room in a panic. Pink is the color of the season so you really can't go wrong with anything in that color palette, and this pretty dress was made to throw-on-and-go. Warm and comfy, it's one-size-fits-all, and is essentially a chic update on your favorite sweater dress. With faux fur sleeve details that make it oh so special special, it's easily my new favorite winter frock.

I paired it with lavender slingback bow pumps, swingy statement earrings and a matching pink clutch to go for a look that's full-on femme.

Got Spirit

Los Angeles, CA

Ready for the big game? It's time to trade in those heels, grab your flats and sport your favorite team colors. Whether you're a diehard fan (like me) rooting on your team, or you're just in it for the commercials and dip, it's important to look cool, comfy, and appropriately spirited. You don't want to be too dressed-up for a day on the couch (it's sort of like showing up to a BBQ in a ball gown), but you also don't want to completely forgo your style in an oversized sweatshirt. I usually just wear a team jersey or a cute tee, jeans and sneakers. My friend got me this adorable sweater from Alyssa Milano's line, Touch, which I also LOVE.

Ways to Score Extra Points:

  • Opt for loose curls when doing your hair
  • Go bright with your lips
  • Wear hoops or statement earrings
  • Paint your nails the team color

Who are you guys rooting for today? After years of growing up in New England, I have yet to lose my love for the Patriots. I definitely turn into a crazy, screaming fan when the Super Bowl rolls around... so watch out!

IN THE MIX

Hollywood, CA

Coffee Date.jpg

Double or nothing. Sometimes I enjoy pairing my stripes with my florals and dots- and other things that don’t conventionally match. It doesn’t ALWAYS work but when it does, it’s fun. I love doing this for office days. I partner my striped cardigan with a floral skirt or leopard flats to give things a twist.

Today, I’m wearing a lightweight striped sweater with ripped skinnies and a leather jacket. It’s a classic look but I think the addition of the leopard clutch really takes things up a notch.

What are some of your favorite materials to to mix?
