Here Comes the Sun

Los Angeles, CA

Spring is in the air and suddenly there's a surge in bright, yellow pieces. Yup, the vibrant shade is saturating my Instagram feed—and I'm joining right in. This ruffly mini dress from Goodnight Macaroon is perfect for the warmer days ahead. I paired it with these comfy low-heeled white booties and a denim jacket for a classic day or night look.  Sometimes, easy throw-on outfits are really the best.

SUMMER IN THE CITY

The Broad, Los Angeles

IMG_4704.jpg

It's always summer in Los Angeles (yes, we are totally spoiled.) And while the weather is generally lovely over here, we still have lots of "summer-only" events to look forward to and take advantage of from June-August. From outdoor movie screenings to concerts at the Hollywood Bowl, there are lots of reasons to head outdoors this season.

And maybe it's just me but I often find myself doing more after-work drinks and day adventures, too. Life is just more exciting in the summer! To keep up with the season of weekend escapes and dinners downtown, I have decided to add some brighter pieces to my rotation. This sunny maxi dress works well for picnics, weddings, outdoor dinners and even a day at the office.

MAUI BREEZE

Maui, Hawaii

Last week I went to Hawaii for the first time! And aside from the infinity pools, crushed ice and ultra-clear ocean, this place was a dream in so many ways I never even imagined. I won’t get into all the reasons why I loved it ( I mean, you would have to be loco not to like it, right?)  but I will say if you find yourself visiting Maui in the near future these are the must-sees:

  • Mama’s Fish House for dinner
  • Trilogy boat/ sail to Lanai for the day
  • The Road to Hana/Black Sand Beach

Everything in Hawaii is lovely. From the people to the food to the weather, it’s the best place to truly escape.

I love this rainbow splashed maxi dress from Anthropologie because it reminds me of my carefree days on the island. From snow cones to the state license plate, Hawaii is perfectly bright, vibrant and represented by this happy symbol.

Ah, I love it there…
