Last week I went to Hawaii for the first time! And aside from the infinity pools, crushed ice and ultra-clear ocean, this place was a dream in so many ways I never even imagined. I won’t get into all the reasons why I loved it ( I mean, you would have to be loco not to like it, right?)  but I will say if you find yourself visiting Maui in the near future these are the must-sees:

• Mama’s Fish House for dinner
• Trilogy boat/ sail to Lanai for the day
• The Road to Hana/Black Sand Beach

Everything in Hawaii is lovely. From the people to the food to the weather, it’s the best place to truly escape.

I love this rainbow splashed maxi dress from Anthropologie because it reminds me of my carefree days on the island. From snow cones to the state license plate, Hawaii is perfectly bright, vibrant and represented by this happy symbol.

Perfect Pastels

Santa Monica, CA

Free-spirited and ultra-flirty, this is the maxi dress I’ve been living in lately. It’s a great transitional piece and the refreshing floral print will brighten even your busiest Tuesday.  But what I REALLY love about it are the colors. Somehow SheIn has managed to design a dress that incorporates an entire rainbow of pretty pastel shades—without being too overwhelming. It’s perfection.

Pair with sandals for an afternoon event or tall wedges for night on the town, either way it’s sure to stand out.  No matter the occasion-- drinks, casual Fridays, birthday parties, beach dates--I’ve found an excuse to wear this long breezy number.

Going Gingham

Still in denial that summer is nearing the finish line? Me too!

And before the sun sets on my favorite time of year, I am wearing (and re-wearing) all the best styles of the season.

Traditionally reserved for little girls and tea parties, I have to admit that I’ve never been one to own a gingham ANYTHING. Not a dress, not a top, not even a scarf. But this year, designers have found a way to make this picnic-y print feel updated and new. From sophisticated cuts to ladylike silhouettes—suddenly I am sold on gingham!  Are you, too?

With a breezy cutout and front knot, this dress puts a modern twist on the classic print. I saw it while shopping at Zara the other day and had to grab it. Great for daytime dates or even a trip to the beach, this flirty number is a summer standout.
