'TIS THE SEASON...

Los Angeles, CA

Feeling like you’ve been to 34 holiday parties and still have more to attend? Same here. And while it can get overwhelming, it’s important not to lose the fun in all of it. For me, I find it’s best to be selective about what to attend and also, to be as kind as I can to myself.

This time of year, I usually tend to look back at my successes (and failures), which often leads to comparisons and that’s never a great thing. We all inevitably do this but to avoid going down that rabbit hole, I think it’s important to take breaks from the phone, enjoy all the friend gatherings, dance with the people you love and take a nice break from the office.

Hope you’re all enjoying the season of festivities!

A LITTLE BIT OF FALL

Salem, New Hampshire

IMG_5720.jpg

Raise your hands if you're not fall-obsessed? Yeah, same here. Not sure it's the popular vote but I am the type that could go for sweltering summer nights and long sunny days all year round. It's part of the reason why I love living in Los Angeles. However, I think this year I may have pushed it off a bit too long.

I arrived in New England to visit my family a few days ago and realized that I may have actually missed fall altogether! It's snowing and freezing—more like parka weather than sweater weather. But I did find a little bit of foliage left out here and it's pretty gorgeous.

Another piece of good news? My new lace-up Eastland boots are great for fall AND winter so I’ve still got plenty of places to wear them. I adore Eastland because they are a company based out of Maine and the quality is amazing so they last forever!

THE COLD IS COMING

Los Angeles, CA

IMG_4263.jpg

Thanksgiving is only a few days away? Hard to believe! I'm really looking forward to seeing my family, eating all the food, and spending time back on the east coast. What I am not sure I am looking forward to is the cold! I like to think we have seasons here in LA, but surely we do not. I am never quite prepared for the chill that greets me when I land at Logan Airport. Is anyone?

That being said, I've started adding a few more cold-weather essentials to my wardrobe—tall boots, tweed, and cozy cardigans. I particularly love this jacket from Chicwish because it keeps me warm and it's not too cumbersome to pack! Can't really ask for much more than that.
