DATE NIGHT STYLE (MINIMAL EFFORT REQUIRED)

Whether you're heading out with your latest match on Bumble or grabbing dinner with your longtime sweetheart, it's always fun to dress it up a bit on date night (especially this time of year). And if you're like me, you've probably spent one too many nights tearing through your wardrobe to find the perfect look. You know, that "I didn't try too hard but I'm here to impress" kind of ensemble? That's what we're all looking for—the little effort, big wow outfit.

So what are some of my easy date-night looks? Honestly, I look to Reformation for all my inspo lately. From jumpsuits to sweet little dresses and tops, they have styles that are classic yet undeniably sexy. This ruffly velvet top works really well with ripped jeans and if you're going on a day-to-night event, toss on a dress like this with a cropped denim jacket and booties. Need an office-to-drinks ensemble? This jumpsuit I wore in a previous post is just perfect.

While I can't guarantee that your date is going to be great, I can tell you that these looks will make you feel 100% every time. Amen for Reformation!

SPRING ON MY MIND

Malibu, CA

IMG_1434.jpg

I don't know about you guys but between fashion week and the flood of tropical winter break photos on my feed, all I can think about is spring. With my eyes set on sunnier 2019 styles, I'm so excited about the idea of losing the wintery layers. It may be the New Englander in me that despises this time of year (no doubt traumatized by years of frigidity) but I just LIVE for warmer, sunnier days.

And while you may want to hold off on wearing open toes in the snow, this two-piece set from Chicwish is a pretty great place to start. Paired with over-the-knee boots, it's a bright, bold way to transition into March and April. I also love that I can style the skirt and top separately for extra outfit options. Because let's be honest, there's no such thing as too many options!

THE WEAR EVERYWHERE SKIRT

Malibu, CA

Before I say how much I love this skirt, l will just admit that pencil skirts used to be the bane of my existence. Constantly tugging and readjusting them as I walked, I used to think of them only as an office attire staple, kind of like a button-down top. Professional, stuffy, and something to wear to an interview, I definitely didn't ever think of them as being 'cool'.

That said, after seeing this style season after season, I've decided to embrace it and find new, dare I say 'exciting' new ways to wear it. The high waist and tailored shape are truly figure-flattering and I love this one from Chicwish because the neutral plaid print looks great with sweaters, graphic tees, silky tanks and more! I can wear it with a blazer to the office then swap out the top for a comfy tee to meet friends for dinner. I can pretty much wear it EVERYWHERE. And while I never thought I'd say it, I totally have a newfound obsession with the pencil skirt.
