Best Dressed

Santa Monica, CA

As you’ve probably noticed, I’ve been (over)wearing dresses lately. The truth is, they’re just so flattering and easy to style that I can’t seem to go for any other piece at the moment. Breezy and ultra-femme, dresses are truly one of the reasons why I love summer.

So if you’re like me, and you can’t get enough, here’s a pretty little white dress to add to your collection. With puffy sleeves and lace details, this one is a great blend of trendy and traditional. What are some of your favorite summer frocks?

MATCHY MATCHY

It's official: matching sets are all the rage right now. I remember one matching striped pencil skirt and tank top combo that I had a couple of years ago and LOVED, but it was the only one I can recall wearing. Now, the options are endless, and I am so happy about it! From coordinating blazers and pants, to two-piece denim sets and pretty summer prints, there is a combo to suit each and every style. And the thing I love most about it? The ease of styling them! Once you've found the perfect two piece, all you need to do is pick out a pair of shoes and accessorize.

I've always leaned more towards more feminine styles and silhouettes, that's why I grabbed this midi-skirt and cropped tank combo from Chicwish. It's effortlessly chic and it is such a fun alternative to one of my traditional summer midi dresses. I wore it last weekend to get brunch and cupcakes with some friends at Magnolia Bakery (aka cupcake heaven) but it would also be a great option for a baby or bridal shower.

GO-TO STYLE

Mar Vista, CA

My favorite summer combo? Dresses and sneakers. I know that I've talked about it before,  like here, but this pairing is (and likely always will be) a go-to of mine. Much like pretzels and peanut butter, it's an unlikely combination that works better than could ever be expected. This dress is Reformation and it has an incredible fit that's both comfy and figure-flattering. Can we really ask for much more than that?

I wore it this past weekend at my local Mar Vista Farmer's Market. I went to get flowers and some new recipe inspiration but, alas, I was only successful at getting the flowers (sunflowers to be specific).
