Matchy-Matchy

Gloucester, MA

This past weekend, I flew home to the east coast to attend a family wedding. While it was a quick trip, it rejuvenated my soul and reminded me why I am (and will always be) in love with New England summers. I wore a few dresses for the rehearsal dinner and the wedding, but I think this matching set was my favorite outfit of the weekend. What I love about a matching set is the easy-breeziness of it all. Instead of having to figure out the right piece to wear with a cropped top or something that perfectly compliments a great pair of shorts, sets pretty much have it all figured out for you. The only thing you have to do is pick out a pair of shoes and some accessories. And especially while traveling, there’s nothing better than a pre-planned outfit. Here’s to hoping the matching trend is here to stay (for a while!)

It's official: matching sets are all the rage right now. I remember one matching striped pencil skirt and tank top combo that I had a couple of years ago and LOVED, but it was the only one I can recall wearing. Now, the options are endless, and I am so happy about it! From coordinating blazers and pants, to two-piece denim sets and pretty summer prints, there is a combo to suit each and every style. And the thing I love most about it? The ease of styling them! Once you've found the perfect two piece, all you need to do is pick out a pair of shoes and accessorize.

I've always leaned more towards more feminine styles and silhouettes, that's why I grabbed this midi-skirt and cropped tank combo from Chicwish. It's effortlessly chic and it is such a fun alternative to one of my traditional summer midi dresses. I wore it last weekend to get brunch and cupcakes with some friends at Magnolia Bakery (aka cupcake heaven) but it would also be a great option for a baby or bridal shower.
