A LITTLE GETAWAY

York Harbor, Maine

dd.jpg

Who doesn't love a good weekend getaway? Easy to plan and usually spontaneous, these three-day trips have led to some of my best adventures. And because my family lives in New Hampshire, I always have the option to switch up my scene and jump coasts. And I take advantage of it—often. This past Labor Day Weekend, I met them in the little ocean town called York, Maine. It is always amazing to catch up with family, eat great seafood and disconnect with spotty wifi coverage. I only wish I could make them a weekly thing.

I wore this off-the-shoulder top to dinner one of the nights (that it wasn't pouring) and then also to a lunch (I packed light!) So flattering and cute, I love the puffy sleeves and stripes. It is undeniably great for summer and the thicker fabric also makes it a perfect transitional piece for fall.

Sun-kissed

Los Angeles, CA

Summer is the season of easy, effortless style. At work, everyone jokes that I must have 27 daytime dresses and while it sounds ridiculous, I probably have even more! I just love the ease of styling a dress.  You don’t have to stress about a matching top or bottom; in one piece, you have a complete outfit. Therefore, it’s no surprise that I also love a good romper. Similarly effortless, it’s a fun alternative to a traditional dress. This one-and-done number from Anthropologie is undeniably chic and requires very little accessorizing. Great for afternoon lunches or even a warm-weather date night, this piece has me wishing summer would never end!

MAUI BREEZE

Maui, Hawaii

Last week I went to Hawaii for the first time! And aside from the infinity pools, crushed ice and ultra-clear ocean, this place was a dream in so many ways I never even imagined. I won’t get into all the reasons why I loved it ( I mean, you would have to be loco not to like it, right?)  but I will say if you find yourself visiting Maui in the near future these are the must-sees:

  • Mama’s Fish House for dinner
  • Trilogy boat/ sail to Lanai for the day
  • The Road to Hana/Black Sand Beach

Everything in Hawaii is lovely. From the people to the food to the weather, it’s the best place to truly escape.

I love this rainbow splashed maxi dress from Anthropologie because it reminds me of my carefree days on the island. From snow cones to the state license plate, Hawaii is perfectly bright, vibrant and represented by this happy symbol.

Ah, I love it there…
