The Spring Skirt

Westwood, CA

Spring is in the air! And that means it’s time to experiment with dresses, skirts and hemlines in general. Whether you’re into shorts and minis or long sweeping maxis, it’s time to trade out your jeans for something a bit breezier.

Midi skirts have always been a favorite of mine. Perhaps that’s why I wear them season after season (after season!)  Remember this winter look? And this floral printed number? Oh and this one? It’s safe to say I love midi skirts. Effortlessly feminine and always classy, they are a true wardrobe staple. And while I love them ALWAYS, something about the silhouette just screams spring. This one is from Chicwish, the company that has simply mastered the midi. I chose a classic black number because it pairs well with printed tops and bold accessories.  Don’t you love this colorpop handbag from Charming Charlie? This season, a little color goes a long way!

Uniform

Los Angeles, CA

My sister is in L.A for the weekend and I am so happy to have her here.  That means I get to play tourist for the next couple of days, it also means we will be doing lots of exploring, shopping, eating and drinking. So I have been trying to scale back my outfit spending.

Thus, today’s look is a mix of some of my favorite staple pieces.  With cool and cloudy weather, it’s best to play it safe with neutral colors and always-in-season styles.  So I went with a chambray top, black skirt and booties. No matter what I end up getting into, it’s a look that never fails!

Daydreamy

Emerald Isle Park

Last weekend I went to Emerald Isle Park with some friends. I brought along my camera with the hopes of capturing some content as we played. We lazily chatted and ate chocolate covered popcorn. It was a good day. The wind was in my hair. My worries out the window.  It was the kind of day that inspired twirling and an early afternoon detour to the Thirsty Crow Bar happy hour.

I wore this dreamy accordion pleated skirt, which easily dresses up or down, and a spring-ready floral tee. The entire look is under $100 and each piece is incredibly versatile. While my look here is quite whimsical, if paired with different pieces, you can achieve a totally different feel. Don’t worry I will bring this skirt back!

Life moves quick and fast. And I’ve been reminded recently to enjoy every moment, especially the good ones.

So today, as I sit with plenty of worries and far too many cares, I dream back to this day, with hopes that  a good happy hour is in my future!
