Mixing Favorites

Glendale, CA

Happy Friday!  Today I’m mixing together some of my favorite go-to pieces for a look that feels brand new. While still cozy, this colorful combo is perfect for transitioning to the warmer months ahead.  I love new clothes-- who doesn’t? But every once and a while it’s fun (and necessary) to raid the closet and bring older pieces back to life.

I hope you feel inspired to get out your winter tops and spring trousers. It’s time to mix and match!

Winter Culottes

Westwood, CA

We got a taste of summer last week. The temps in LA reached the high 80’s and 90’s! And while I realize that lots of the country is still frost-covered, it got me seriously dreaming about spring. Now I don’t know about you guys, but I’m definitely ready for a refreshing new color palate!

I was one of the few people in the city who worked on President’s Day.  And because it was a 90 degree holiday, I decided to sport these breezy culottes to the office. I paired them with a fitted striped top, booties and a blazer for a look that felt both sophisticated and spring-ready! Culottes are incredibly flattering and cross-seasonal. They wear well with tee shirts, chunky sweaters and denim jackets. But as versatile as they are,  I have to admit, they're definitely harder to pull off during wintertime. Not to worry! For those of you still battling the burrr, Elle has put together some styling tips HERE about how to rock them— even in the snow!

A Classic Valentine

Beachwood Canyon, Los Angeles

Valentine's Day is just one day away! And whether you're planning a night out on the town or a relaxing dinner with your special someone, it's safe to say that "date night attire" is required.

I have always been smitten with classics. I love Black and White Cinema, songs by Ella Fitzgerald and classic TV shows. I still dream of my tiny 20's-style apartment over on La Brea and I often gravitate towards vintage inspired clothing. There just seemed to be something so lovely, so simple, so utterly romantic about the past.  Thus, when I want to feel most special,  I go classic.

This bow tie dress is just perfect. It's from one of my favorite vintage-inspired shops, Ruche.

Happy Valentine's Day loves!
