Home for the Holidays

New Hampshire

Yesterday, we had Christmas Part 2 at my sister’s house.  I ate so much food that I could barely sleep last night. She’s a great cook and so is her husband— it’s really a deadly (delicious) combination.

Today, we’re continuing with the food frenzy at my parent’s house, while catching up on movie watching. Yup, things are pretty tough here in New Hampshire.  Aside from eating, drinking and oversleeping you should know that I’ve also been spending more time than expected outdoors.  I wore this button-up skirt and sweater combo for a little afternoon stroll around the neighborhood.  Although it is fifty degrees out, this look still feels very wintry so I added some over the knee boots.  Perfect with this skirt, they also look great with jeans and a long sweater! Oh and how chic is this backpack? I got it for Christmas and I’m loving it.

A Cropped Christmas

Boston, MA

Merry Christmas Eve! I made it back to the East Coast just in time for the holiday AND for this wild winter heat wave. It’s warmer here in Boston than it was when I left Los Angeles and it honestly feels like spring is in the air. Everyone here seems to be excited about it, but I have to say, I really enjoy my yearly snow fix. And who doesn’t love a white Christmas?

Here’s to hoping things take a turn for the cold! Until then, I’ll be dressed accordingly. I’m wearing this fun cropped turtleneck top and a vegan leather midi skirt. I love a good midi skirt this time of year and I must say, it’s pretty great that I can actually wear these pieces outside today.

Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas and holiday break! I will be spending time with the ones I love most (pictured here).

Catch ya next year!

My New Normal

Abbot Kinney Blvd.

Last Sunday, my pals and I spent the afternoon eating and drinking our way through Venice. We brunched at my friend’s beachside bungalow and walked along Abbot Kinney Blvd. I am really beginning to love life on the Westside and this street, in particular, is a selling point. If you’ve never been, you should add it to your travel list. It’s home to some of the quaintest shops, coffee spots and eateries along the California coast and it also happens to be the land of interesting people. I love it.

At one point during the day, I stepped off onto a little side street to snap a few pictures with my friend. I thought it was quaint and quiet enough for picture taking. Wrong.  I definitely went a little crazy with Photoshop in this post but what is not pictured:  Christmas carolers, locals who stopped to pose with me, puppies, pugs, scruffy dogs, hipster after hipster, oh yea and there was a fight between two homeless guys that broke out behind me too. We had to stop and go hide out in a little shop for a few moments until they stopped.  If it sounds exciting and eventful, it was.

I wore a bowtie blouse and high-waisted skinnies, which doesn’t scream Venice, but I can’t help it. It’s all I am about right now. I wear bowtie tops to breakfast lunch and dinner and nobody can stop me. If it’s got a bow around the neck, I am wearing it. Oh and this particular peach one from Forever 21 is very inexpensive, so grab one— or ten.
