The Perfect Under $50 Sweater

Newburyport, MA

If there's one piece I'd like to live in on cold New England days, it'd be an oversized sweater. And it's easy to see why—they're comfy, casual, and easy to style with maxi skirts, jeans, and leggings. Oh, and this green one from Chicwish is also under $50! Not only is it great for a relaxed winter weekend, but it easily dresses up your sneaker and jeans outfit.

EASY AFFORDABLE WFH STYLE

Newburyport, MA

IMG_9791.jpg

I’ve been working from home since March of this year and I’ve found that (like we’ve all heard so many times already) getting dressed every day can really have a powerful positive impact on my mood, self-esteem, and work performance. If you also WFH, have you noticed that, too? Another thing I do to help me get off on the right foot is work out in the morning or take a walk along the water.

Now that we live in Newburyport, we really have no excuse not to go walk on the beach or along the Merrimack River. And no matter how cold it gets, we plan on still getting out there (at least for a few minutes) because it helps us to recharge during a long day of sitting on the computer.

This outfit is truly perfect for working-from-home and is comprised of staples you’ll definitely get a lot of use out of. The inexpensive, comfy sweatshirt from Target is great to tuck into high-waisted skinnies like these but it’s also perfect for lounging around the house or wearing with leggings. This wrap jacket from Chicwish will truly never go out of style and these earrings? Grabbed them for $6! All in all, a great everyday outfit that will hopefully add a little extra polish to your WFH life.

Work the Maxi Skirt into your Winter Mix

Los Angeles, CA

I've been back in New Hampshire for the past week and I've been reminded just how cold it can be this time of year. Unless you're in my neck of the woods (Southern California) or some other warm southern state, chances are, the only pieces you're wearing right now are the ones that will keep you cozy. That being said, skirts are probably the last thing on your mind. But adding a longer maxi skirt to your rotation can be the change your wardrobe needs—and you won't freeze while wearing it.

Like this gorgeous satin option, maxi skirts can be paired with your coziest winter sweater for a look that's totally balanced. I wore this outfit for a Christmas party but it works for a day at the office or brunch with friends, too. Adding one or two maxi skirts to your cold-weather line-up can really help to freshen up your everyday style.
