SUMMER-IZING WORK ATTIRE

Westwood, CA

One of my favorite things about summer is being able to wear shorts to the office. It's a fun change from my usual attire and it makes for an easy happy hour transition. And while most work places (like mine) adhere to a casual dress code, the topic remains a bit controversial: should you or shouldn't you strut your pair of weekend shorts into the boardroom? I guess it's best to consider these three things:

1. Would you be OK wearing them in a meeting with senior leaders?

2. Do you work in an "official" dress code culture?

3. How short are we talking?

I say, when in doubt, wear them with a blazer.

That's what I did with this little printed pair. The black and white color combo make them easy to wear with just about anything and with a lightweight, airy design, they're great for desk days and beach days, too!

What do you guys think? Will you be wearing shorts to the office this season?

the Little White Dress

Venice, CA

It's officially white-weather season! And that means it's time to find your version of the perfect little white dress. With so many different cuts, textures and designs to choose from, it's easy to find one that is 100% YOU.

I personally love this short little lace frock from Marshalls because it's easy to style for day or night. From daytime brunches to evening cocktails,it's a great any-occasion summer dress! I kept the accessories neutral and added bright funfetti pumps for a little kick of color. It seems everywhere I look, floral flats and fun printed heels are popping up. They add personality to just about any look and I'm so excited to wear this pair again (and again!)

50 Shades of Blue

Westwood, CA

Monochrome. The trend is nothing new, but trying out less traditional tones like blue, turquoise and green can make a big bold impact. And this summer, everyone is incorporating intricate prints, floral patterns and lighter warm-weather hues. Similar to mixing prints, you really have to play around with lots different shades before you pull off a winning look. Trust me, I reworked this outfit about four times before I called it quits.

I love this breezy fit-and-flare dress because it takes a lot of the guesswork out of styling! It blends a medley of blue hues with bold crisscrossing patterns and pretty flower designs. I paired it with a light-wash denim jacket, a bold belt and navy sneakers, for a look that's oh so blue!
