Daydreamy

Emerald Isle Park

Last weekend I went to Emerald Isle Park with some friends. I brought along my camera with the hopes of capturing some content as we played. We lazily chatted and ate chocolate covered popcorn. It was a good day. The wind was in my hair. My worries out the window.  It was the kind of day that inspired twirling and an early afternoon detour to the Thirsty Crow Bar happy hour.

I wore this dreamy accordion pleated skirt, which easily dresses up or down, and a spring-ready floral tee. The entire look is under $100 and each piece is incredibly versatile. While my look here is quite whimsical, if paired with different pieces, you can achieve a totally different feel. Don’t worry I will bring this skirt back!

Life moves quick and fast. And I’ve been reminded recently to enjoy every moment, especially the good ones.

So today, as I sit with plenty of worries and far too many cares, I dream back to this day, with hopes that  a good happy hour is in my future!

Mixing Favorites

Glendale, CA

Happy Friday!  Today I’m mixing together some of my favorite go-to pieces for a look that feels brand new. While still cozy, this colorful combo is perfect for transitioning to the warmer months ahead.  I love new clothes-- who doesn’t? But every once and a while it’s fun (and necessary) to raid the closet and bring older pieces back to life.

I hope you feel inspired to get out your winter tops and spring trousers. It’s time to mix and match!

Winter Culottes

Westwood, CA

We got a taste of summer last week. The temps in LA reached the high 80’s and 90’s! And while I realize that lots of the country is still frost-covered, it got me seriously dreaming about spring. Now I don’t know about you guys, but I’m definitely ready for a refreshing new color palate!

I was one of the few people in the city who worked on President’s Day.  And because it was a 90 degree holiday, I decided to sport these breezy culottes to the office. I paired them with a fitted striped top, booties and a blazer for a look that felt both sophisticated and spring-ready! Culottes are incredibly flattering and cross-seasonal. They wear well with tee shirts, chunky sweaters and denim jackets. But as versatile as they are,  I have to admit, they're definitely harder to pull off during wintertime. Not to worry! For those of you still battling the burrr, Elle has put together some styling tips HERE about how to rock them— even in the snow!
