A Classic Valentine

Beachwood Canyon, Los Angeles

Valentine's Day is just one day away! And whether you're planning a night out on the town or a relaxing dinner with your special someone, it's safe to say that "date night attire" is required.

I have always been smitten with classics. I love Black and White Cinema, songs by Ella Fitzgerald and classic TV shows. I still dream of my tiny 20's-style apartment over on La Brea and I often gravitate towards vintage inspired clothing. There just seemed to be something so lovely, so simple, so utterly romantic about the past.  Thus, when I want to feel most special,  I go classic.

This bow tie dress is just perfect. It's from one of my favorite vintage-inspired shops, Ruche.

Happy Valentine's Day loves!

Galentine's Day Guide

Galentine's Day was quite literally created by Amy Pohler's character on the show Parks & Recreation. A genius group of writers they had staffed over there? I say yes. Once fictitious, it is now one of my favorite holidays to celebrate in real life!   In case you didn't know, Galentine's Day is on February 13th and it's a wonderful excuse to recognize all the amazing ladies in your life. Last year I went to the beach with my best friends, car danced, and took advantage of the earlybird Valentines dinner specials. It was great. So while this holiday is still fresh and new, it's the perfect excuse to let your mom, sister, friend, coworker or BFF know just how much they are loved!

I've put together some of my favorite Galantine's Day gift ideas (and some great treats for you too!)

Happy New Year! Yes, it has been that long since I last posted. I hope you are all off to a great 2016. Here in LA, it’s been unseasonably cold and I have been unseasonably busy.   My schedule has been packed with travel, work and fun—so I have very few complaints.

With the New Year, came a fresh new ‘do for me! My hairdresser convinced me to cut off SIX INCHES. And so for the first time in forever, I have short hair. Technically it is called a LOB and though I hate the name, I am really starting to love the look!

This morning I am chilly and oh so sleepy (if you can’t tell) so I decided to go for a very casual, very weekend-feel ensemble. I have always been into turtlenecks, on trend or not, so when I saw this striped one from LOFT I was sold—immediately.  Oh and what is better than a pink blanket scarf in February? Not much! The combo is quite cozy. To be honest though, I can’t really take credit for anything I am wearing today. My mom and sister bought me all the pieces for my birthday— aren’t they just great?

Oh and the BEST part about this look? Almost everything is on SALE right now! I’ve included all the links below.

Enjoy!
