Romp Around

July 31, 2015

Santa Monica, CA

Summer is the season of easy, effortless style. At work, everyone jokes that I must have 27 daytime dresses and while it sounds ridiculous, I probably have even more! I just love the ease of styling a dress.  You don’t have to stress about a matching top or bottom; in one piece, you have a complete outfit. Therefore, it’s no surprise that I love a good romper. Similarly effortless, it’s a fun alternative to a traditional dress. This lovely little one-and-done number from H&M is undeniably classic and requires very little accessorizing. Great for afternoon lunches or even a warm-weather date night, this piece has me wishing summer would never end!

A Taste of the Tropics

July 16, 2015

California Ave. Santa Monica , CA

Reminiscent of Hawaii, Los Angeles has temporarily adapted a hot and humid island-like climate. Perfect for outdoor, jacketless dinners and summery activities, I’m really in no rush for this weather to leave.

A couple of days ago, I met up with friends for after-work cocktails at a neighborhood bar.  We caught the sunset and snapped a couple of pictures along the way.  I felt like I was on vacation!  I wore this palm-printed romper from H&M and paired with my nude Nine West wedges.  Popping up just about everywhere this season, the iconic tropical tree print will make you think of breezy summer days, vacations and ocean waves.

Sandy Season

July 13, 2015

Santa Monica, CA

Life at the beach is like one long vacation. While it’s a quick commute to my busy work world, this sleepy town is definitely becoming my new oasis.

Refreshing and calm, ocean air and big beach waves have a way of reminding us that the world is so much bigger and more beautiful than we often remember. I love the constant reminder.

Between afternoon bike rides and naps in the sand, it’s an easy place to find happiness. Yesterday, I met up with a big group of neighbors and friends and we walked along Palisades Park to an outdoor brunch spot on Main Street.  I chose to wear this comfy striped maxi from Forever 21 with a sunhat, tribal necklace and my new Lauren Hope bracelet.  I love mixing standout jewelry pieces with a more basic canvas.  It allows for the accessories to really shine.  Because I knew we were going to be doing a bit of walking, I wore my comfy Kayla Sandals from Restricted Shoes. Perfect for an afternoon stroll, they pair well with just about everything in my summer wardrobe, adding a sunny burst of color to today’s look.

Oh and don’t forget! Restricted Shoes is offering you guys 25% off sitewide for all full-priced items. Just use the code WK25.  Valid through July 31.

Hope you guys have a great Monday!
