Culver City Park

I am a collector of polka dots.  My closet is already covered in dots but it seems that I am always adding more. Playful and outfit-energizing, I can’t seem to stay away from a print that is just so classically cute.

Today, I paired this breezy spotted number with my brand new Brassy oxfords from Restricted Shoes.  With side cutouts and a woven front design, they offer a summery fresh take on classic design. I adore them! Perfect for pairing with boyfriend jeans, crisp white trousers, or afternoon dresses, these are a great alternative to basic flats this season!

I have been making a real effort to enjoy the outdoors this summer. Whether it’s eating lunch at the park down the street from the office (as we did here) or pushing myself to go for a run along the beach after work, it’s a beautiful time of year and we’ve got to get out there and make the best of it!

Oh and hey! Restricted Shoes is offering you guys 25% off sitewide for all full-priced items. Just use the code WK25. Valid through July 31.

Red White & Boats!

The Atlantic Ocean

Happy Fourth of July!

I hope your day is full of sunshine, friends and a sweet blueberry pie.

I’m writing today’s post from the middle of the ocean.  If only this could always be my workspace! After spending the past few days traveling along the coast on my family’s boat, we’re headed to Newport Rhode Island, where we will be spending the rest of the weekend. It’s been a couple of years since I’ve explored the area, so I really can’t wait.

Today’s look is fittingly festive, yet casual enough for a bit of bar hopping and dockside BBQing.  This easy, light-wash denim dress from Forever 21 pairs perfectly with these striped espadrilles by Nautica that I found at Marshalls.

There is just something so truly fitting about spending the Fourth of July in the east coast. Rich with history and beautiful scenic views, there’s really no other place I’d rather be.

How are you guys spending your Independence Day?

Cheers to Two Years!

Time is a funny thing.

As I sifted through old photos for my Dad's Surprise 60th Birthday last weekend, I couldn't help but think about how quickly the days, months and even YEARS have a way of blurring together. I suppose that's why it's so important to celebrate birthdays and big milestones.

I started this blog two years ago today (Check out my very first post here!) . It began simply as a creative outlet to express my passion for exploring writing and of course, fashion. These daily chronicles have given me: happiness, visibility, creativity, vulnerability and personal growth.

As I look back, I am proud to see that my style and the quality of my work is often evolving and changing as I, myself, continue to grow.  I must admit that I was at best "interested in fashion" when I started this blog.  I had no real knowledge of top designers, I didn't follow the latest trends, I just knew what I liked to wear and that was it.  Now, I have a career as a writer in the industry and while I am still certainly no fashion expert, I have learned that the only thing you really need to pull off a standout piece is the confidence to stand tall in your own skin.

Here are Some of My Favorite Moments:

Thanks for following along with me! I've been so grateful to have had the chance to share a bit of my world with all of you. And also a big thanks to everyone who has helped me: friends, family, neighbors, coworkers. These photos did not take themselves!
