SLIP INTO SPRING

Century City, CA

The best alternative to skinnies right now? Slip skirts. Not only are they insanely versatile, but they are also perfectly on-trend for spring. It seems like everywhere I look at the moment, another fashion girl is rocking one, and I'm definitely here for it. Something about the shimmery fabric can give even your most basic tee a chic bit of polish. It's definitely a piece you need to add to your spring wardrobe.

Usually on the pricier side, this beauty from Morning Lavender is both affordable and flattering. Perfectly femme with a flared hem and blush shade, it's definitely going to be a staple in my spring closet. I paired it for a lunch date with a cropped striped tee to keep my look casual, but it would also be perfect with a lace tank for a more dressed up look. If you're a fan of airy fabrics and softer feminine styles, you need to check out Morning Lavender. It's one of my favorites!

THE POWER PAIRING

West Hollywood, CA

When it comes to styling, opposites definitely attract. And one of my cold weather favorites is the skirt and sweater combo. It's a versatile match that delivers an effortlessly sophisticated feel. And the pairings are endless: a patent leather skirt with a delicate knit, a pleated maxi with a chunky turtleneck, a metallic midi with polka dotted sweater… I could go on and on here. Play with different prints and add bold jewelry for a look that feels full-on fashionable! I toughened up my cozy turtleneck sweater with an edgier leather skirt and threw on a traditional wrap coat for a bit of extra polish. What are some of your favorite sweater and skirt combos?

How to Dress up your workweek with little effort

Santa Monica, CA

Ah yes, it’s that time of year. The time that sends me searching endlessly through my closet and coming up with nothing to wear. I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve already used up all of my outfit creativity this season or if I’m just growing sick of my winter clothes but lately, I’ve been in a bit of a wardrobe slump. I’m not inspired to buy many more winter pieces since spring is right around the corner (wishful thinking, maybe?) and I’ve got my sights set on lighter, brighter things. However, I still want to keep my office style updated.

So what is the solution? Well, I find it’s best to invest in a few sale pieces and reinvent your go-to’s with your favorite accessories. I’m talking new jewelry, mixing in a print, or grabbing an all-season dress that works well for both winter and spring. This Ann Taylor Factory dress is just the answer. Styled with tights and classic accessories here, it can easily shift into April and May with a quick shoe and accessory update. When things warm up, lose the tights, swap in a denim jacket and a pair of strappy shoes for a look that’s as fresh as the flowers that’ll be in bloom.
