GOOD MORNING, SANTA MONICA!

Santa Monica, CA

This morning, my roommate and I woke up early and took a stroll down on Main Street in Santa Monica. Lined with cafes, cute little coffee shops, and yoga studios, it’s a perfect stop en route to my office. And speaking of offices, I work dangerously close to the 3rd Street Promenade. If you’ve never visited, it’s located just blocks from the ocean and has everything from high-end fashion stores, to boutiques and local farmer’s market stands. Needless to say, I often have to take a longer way to get to my car after work in order to avoid a daily shopping spree. But yesterday, I decided to pop into Madewell (just to browse) and ended up leaving with a whole bag of new clothes. In fact, this top and skirt are both new purchases. I love this lace-back sweater tee and maxi skirt because both pieces are versatile and work well to transition into the cooler days to come.

Date NighT (OR DAY) APPROVED

Downtown LA

IMG_5218.jpg

Nothing eases the pain of getting ready for date night like having an arsenal of go-to outfits to choose from. Whether it’s a classic jean and tank combo or a mini dress and heels, I find that as the season nears the finish line, extra outfit inspo is even more important. That’s why today, I am sharing a dress that I wore to dinner downtown the other night. With romantic lace and structured fit, this little white dress is an upgrade from your traditional picnic party variety.

That being said, I easily transitioned from day to night by keeping my shoes comfy and adding/removing my sun hat. This dress from Chicwish is beautiful, timeless and works well for pretty much any summer date. What are some of your go-to date night (or day) outfits right now?

A LITTLE BIT OF HOME

The Grove

Every time I visit New England in the summer, I fall in love with it again. The smaller, quainter beaches, the smell of the marshes, and those humid nights remind me that I'm home.

I took a quick trip back there this past weekend and spent time with my family between Newburyport and Wingersheek Beach. We had some cookouts, I collected shells with my niece in the tide pools, and aside from the ride home from Logan airport, I saw very little traffic. It was refreshing. And while I still took far too many photos and videos (I am an over-documenter for sure), it feels like a place that I can unplug. Whether it's a favorite hiking trail or a weekend trip across the country, I think it's really important to find time to recharge.

Today's outfit isn't from my days back east, mostly because I have tried to limit my blogging on trips like this, but it's perfectly classic and feels inspired by my love of New England. From the stripes to the midi length, it just screams Martha's Vineyard. I love wearing it because it feels like a little piece of home.
