THE SPARKLY CELEBRATION

IDEAL FOR: THE COCKTAIL PARTY

Have an after-work holiday party to swing by (or 4)? Sometimes it's fun to go glam with a statement piece. This year, I went with a ruched sequin skirt and partnered it with a dainty black tank and pink/gold accents. It's a flirty little combo that works for all levels of dressy (in case you're doing that holiday party hop!)  I've had this body-con sparkler on my want list for a while and I love this darker burgundy mini dress as well. They look stunning and are perfect to wear to everything this time of year-- so much more fun than your basic LBD!

Oh and can you believe my hair is actually styled up? It was all the work of the talented Aaron Barry! He kept my makeup fresh and light and twisted my hair up into a braid and then worked his magic and tousled it into a loose bun. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask him on his site or instagram! Ah to have a hair/makeup artist everyday... that would be the life.

Hope you're all enjoying the endless season of parties!

THE COZY HOLIDAY

Hollywood Christmas Tree Farm

Ideal for: THE FAMILY PARTY

Magical, cozy and oh so merry, there are so many reasons to love this season! And there are even more ways to celebrate. Whether your style is classic, unconventional, or you love a little glamour, there's no dress code when it comes to holiday fashion. From oversized sweaters and cute booties, to velvet dresses and sparkly skirts, there's an occasion for all of it. And I am teaming up with the amazing makeup/hair stylist Aaron Barry to put together three different looks for the endless season of events!

This first look is classic, ultra-comfortable and all things easy. It works for both a family party and night out at the bar with friends. When the temps drop, it's easy to opt for the warmest thing you can find, but with so many sweaters that offer anything but basic details these days, you almost HAVE to choose one! I love this one from Madewell because it has flared, tie sleeves and a cute cowl neck. It's also a great layering piece! I went with a ripped, high-waist skinny jean and a pair of pom pom statement earrings from Sugarfix by Baublebar.

STYLE TO GO

Los Angeles, CA

JH2A0713.jpg

Ready to hit the airports for the most hectic travel day of the year? Aside from braving the traffic and checkout counters (are those even still a thing people use at the airport?) you need to grab a few travel outfits that are equal parts comfy and stylish. Ah yes, dressing functionally and looking fashionable IS possible!

Save your sweats for your parents house and throw on a not-so-basic sweater. This one from SHEIN meets all the necessary comfy/casual requirements. With a lace-up front and flared sleeves, it offers a touch of detail to go with your jeans.
